Iris domestica aka Blackberry Lily. Probably pollinated by something with a long tongue.

It looks like a Blackberry Lily (Iris domestica, formerly Belamcanda chinensis), or its hybrid, the Candy Lily.

Maybe a hummingbird Owdboggy? Both explanations are in sync so you both must be correct. Thanks for your speedy reply.

the parts sticking out the centre of the flower are the male and female reproductive organs.
the one that looks like a peeled apart stalk looks like the stigma[female] the other longer part to the left looks like the stamen the male part.
a close up will confirm it or it will be the other way round:o)

Amazing how complex and unusual it is.
