Hi, I have dianthus kahori, I have put this in a pot for the garden, wondering what will happen if it is not planted in soil, will it still come back next year if I leave it in a pot , or does it need to be put in the ground to stay alive .

If the pot's a reasonable size it should be OK as long as severe frost doesn't freeze the compost solid.
