Thanks Scotsgran - I have a slightly smaller one and didn't know the name either. One of those where you get the leaves first, then they die as the flowers appear.

I have a lot in the garden as the bulbs are sold in most supermarkets at very tempting prices.

Thankyou for the replies, I will try to get more of these flowers they really are very pretty, and when the sun shines on them they almost glow, I can't remember where I bought these from , although I,m sure they were small bulbs,so that will be my next assignment ,"where to get them from ,and when ". Thankyou.

They are small bulbs. You will find packs of them in supermarkets, DIY stores and garden centres.

They don't appear the next year in my garden, I used to treat them as annuals. As you say, they are cheap.

Triteleia but I'm not sure which one. Have a look at this link and choose from four different ones. http://choicebulb.com/catalog-pages/brodiaea.html
