Most damage on the leaves looks like slugs/snails - earwigs like to eat flowers though. Certainly there seems to be a call for a slug/snail treatment...

Thank you, but I have put bark everywhere and was told slugs/snails won't cross this. Will definitely put pellets round now, was trying to be Eco-friendly ☹️

slugs and snails are perfectly happy to cross bark... there is nothing I know of that they won't cross!

Definitely looks like slugs, just popped out to get late washing in and saw a huge black slug - needless to say it's not there now! I have a Brugmansia in a pot and though supposed to be fairly hardy, it's till in a pot. All the lower leaves kept disappearing and I blamed the peacocks who like to sample things, then I moved the pot to a place out of reach of them and found about six large brown slugs hiding underneath - I apologised to the peacocks!

How do I say thanks?
