Wild Cranesbill? Or maybe not . . . any ID ideas please?

Thank you Sue. The colour is almost true - it was a slightly deeper pink than shown; flower less than 1cm across. This was between a meadow and a river, and the wild flower enthusiasts with me found it tricky to identify in their books. There was masses of foliage which just a few flowers, and the clump perhaps 20cm tall.

Yes its a puzzle then. Did they consider Cut Leafed cranesbill? (C. dissectum) Maybe Landgirl would recognise it.

Yes, Steragram is right - that's Geranium dissectum. The short hairs on the leaf stalk point downwards and the flowers are small compared to the leaves.

I have this growing in my unweeded beds. It is very pretty none the less.
not really sure how it ended up in my garden though.

Yes. Is the colour true? Where was it growing and how far across are the flowers?
Meadow cranesbill (G. pratense) is about 30cm tall and normally bluer than that - never seen a pinkish one, but it looks the most likely as the leaves are right.
