Which plants can I plant in a shady corner of a north east facing garden? This area never gets the sun and is slightly sunken as it used to be a pond.

ferns are always a good bet, as are some hostas. but plants like beesiana, pachysandra, some of the epimediums, and pachyphragma all do well in my shady garden.

You have many choices for shade plants. Just scroll down to the bottom, click on "S" then "Shade Plants" have a field day.

Some of the perennial geraniums are happy in shade, especially if you get a little morning sun. Look at Long Acre Plants website - they specialise in shade plants.

Yes, do take a look at Long Acre Plants. I've had lots of plants from them, including Sweet Woodruff (Galium Odoratum) which is a great groundcover plant for shade.

Sorry to highjack this post but does Sweet Woodruff grow in deep shade? I have some which has spread beautifully in part shade.

Yes, I saw some yesterday growing in deep shade in a wood. It will need light in the spring, though.

Skimmia fragrans, Liriope Munro White, both do okay in such a situation.
