It seems they do like to be planted when earth is warm. I did some a week ago and they are up, but not blooming. Do not fertilize them to get them moving. Maybe a bloom by September, just depends where you have planted them.
One of my favorites so always fooling around with different ones.

the self sown ones in my garden keep germinating all the time. so go ahead. they will happily grow away and they will flower until the first really sharp frosts when they will just collapse.
the ones that started last month are already showing buds.

Generally you sow them from March to May as they should be in flower now, but it might be worth giving it a try if you have seed...
