It's a Yucca - possibly Yucca alternifolia.

Looks like Y. recurvifolia, to me. As far as I can tell, there is no Y. alternifolia.

Ah yes, there is no such thing - I meant Y. alifolia! Many a slip twixt cup and lip, as they say...

Yucca aloifolia certainly exists, Bamboo.
Sadly, I don't think that this is one of them though. Y. aloifolia has much stiffer and straighter leaves, which are also somewhat shorter. The flower clusters are shorter, too.
You really should watch that webbing while under the influence, though, Bamboo! :D

He he, not drunk, just knackered... haven't been sleeping well since the EU referendum result (which we mustn't discuss, of course....)

There's an easy cure for that Bamboo. Just listen to all the endless political discussions, preferably on the radio, which at this stage make no difference and you'll eventually nod off.

Lack of sleep does just as well as gin, Bamboo! :)

It's not just me who is having sleep problems then. Mine are different to yours Bamboo but still make the brain less than efficient.

Ah well, Arbuthnot, there are many reasons why older people don't sleep, not least of which is pain! Damned arthritis... not to mention the wonky thermostat women develop and which, for some of us, continues to cause problems. My duvet is off and back on again at least 4 times a night... never mind the added weight of grief or worry. But the latter two, at least for me, will pass, unlike the other causes.

Arbuthnot, I too often wish there was a 'like' or other option available.

There is for blogs, isn't there - it would actually be quite useful for answers, saves having to come on an actually make a comment if all you want to do is express a smile or agreement, its a good idea.
