I've got an 8 yr old sorbus copper kettle tree which seems to be dying back. the branches are drying up and are brittle and crispy yet it seems to be throwing out new branches at the very top. Is it dead? Should I take it out or can it recover with extra watering? Any advice please?
No damage to trunk or obvious infestation visible. Have added a photo of damaged leaves, the whole tree seems to be affected. Thank you for your reply, Bamboo.

Photographs would be helpful for diagnostic purposes - otherwise, check the trunk all the way to the ground, making sure there aren't any soft spots, cracks, weeping areas, or significant damage. Also check all branches and backs of leaves, to see if there's any kind of infestation or obvious infection present.
