Caterpillars in my apples
By Whpharoah

I have tiny, tiny green caterpillars that seem to live in the flowers of my apple tree and then eat their way out of the fruit that grows around the flowers, I have tried sticky tapes in the autumn but they don't seem to help, is there a paint I can use on the trunk? ( I forgot to add that they hang on fine threads from the apples.)

Its worth using a pheremone trap for codling moth, specially if you only have one apple tree. Should be erected during May, further information and advice here

I think you need to use 'grease bands on the trunks over the winter to catch the coddling moth adults before they lay their eggs.
see what others think about the suggestion. Fruit trees not my area of expertise to be honest.
