Mainly for shirley - this is my "spherical" bush, which is being taken over by my euonymous ( forgive spelling - already forgotten ). A couple of years ago it was just a bare stem with a perfectly round top but having been neglected it's a bit overgrown.
I went out yesterday with my secateurs etc to put things right, - thus my original question.
Still don't know what to do about the euonymous.

Now I see why you call it your spherical bush. It is a conifer and I love the shape of it, but there does appear to be an Ivy and the Euonymus growing within it! If it were mine, I would trace the top of each stem of Ivy and Euonymus down to the base, if possible, snip it off and then perhaps make a little sphere of the Euonymus to the right of the Conifer. Good luck Hank!

It is an evergreen Tug and I have one that matches it exactly on the other front corner of the house. (Minus the euonymus of course ).

You might find that the euonymus has killed off the gree underneath - fingers crossed.

Next question
Is that spherical bush some kind of evergreen? If so, you may be better off maintaining it as it is, just cutting the Eonymus back to keep it from taking over more of the sphere. Removing the Eonymus fully will leave gaping holes in the sphere, which may not fill in.
