Bindweed. Do you need to remove the fine fibrous roots as well as the white thicker roots please?

Now that is interesting. I have only ever removed the fat white 'roots' [actually underground stems]. and never thought aout the fibrous ones. I can feel a controlled experiment coming on here.

That would suggest you still have bindweed to experiment with, Seaburngirl!

yes I do. I 'kept' a small patch so I had rhizomes for work. same with creeping sowthistle. both really good for showing asexual repro as well as perennating organs.
also have nettles so the butterflies have a food source!!
there is lots of bindweed in the neighbouring garden too.

Yes. Although I have to tell you that its next to impossible to get all the roots out, and it regrows from the tiniest fragment...
