Hi all you gardeners. Anyone know why my phalaenopsis orchid leaves are shrivelling up.I thought it may be too much or too little water. Any ideas.

Also, what condition are the roots in? Are they plump and green and white, or are they shriveled and tan, or are they black and mushy. And, of course, how and how often do you water it?

I find that I never get more than 4 leaves at any one time. as new ones form the old ones shrivel and die off.

I cut off any leaves that shrivel. Too much sun On my windowsill can cause this too. They seem to like dappled shade.

Under what conditions do you have it growing in the house, lighting, humidity and temperature? What kind of soil is it in?Have you fertilized it ever? How long have you had it? Did you move it to a different location recently? Is it near an air conditioner or AC duct? You see, it is not only the variable of watering that might give you an answer to your question.
