I asked a question a couple of weeks ago re taking out turf previously treated with Verdone extra and the advice I was given was best wait until spring before planting. This is fine and I am happy to do this.
The problem I now have is storing the plants I have bought for the new border over winter.
I have a buddleja, philadelphus both shrubs. Some Cammassia plants, the bulbs are now dormant, I bought last spring and a few other perennials. A friend has offered to keep them in her greenhouse for the winter since I commented that I was a bit premature in buying them.
I have nowhere else sheltered for winter.
If OK to keep them in greenhouse should I wait until the weather turns cold and do I need to water during the winter.
I apologise if these questions are a bit basic but Id hate to have wasted good money. Thank you very much for your help.

As far as the Camassias are concerned, if they are not in pots, if you cannot plant them in the ground, then pot them up. They will not be very happy out of the soil for the winter.

If the greenhouse is unheated, that might be a good option, and yes, wait till end of autumn, and yes you will need to water to prevent the pots drying out completely. But do you have any space at all anywhere else in the garden? If you wait till the weather gets cold and its early winter, you can sink the pots into the ground, then take them out in early spring, when the weather isn't so cold, and that would provide sufficient protection to the plants' roots. If you do this, don't leave them sunk into the ground any longer than you have to, or there's a risk the plants will try to put down roots through the holes in the pots at the bottom.
