hi, I have an acer that I pt in a half barrel about 7 months ago and it over the last couple of months started to drop its leaves very suddenly, I have noticed a white powdery out on parts of it, anyone got any ideas on the problem and any potential remedies?, thanks in advance

The white is mildew which is usually associated with being too dry at the roots. Acers do not like to be wind blown either.
