Any idea what this is? I've been pulling these up all summer long, convinced they were weeds but now I'm not so sure. I've let this one grow but it doesn't look like it's going to flower. The leaves smell rather pleasant when crushed.

Could it be one of the Conyza species? Canadian Fleabane is the most common.

One of the leucanthemums?

I can't describe the fragrance, other than it's sort of lemony. It could be Conyza but mine hasn't grown to such heights. It's quite easy to pull up with a skinny pointed root. I think I'll keep that one and pull the rest up in the block paving. If it over winters I'll update you.

Maybe Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris), or one of its kin?

that's what was alluding me Tugbrethil [Mugwort]. I find it a nuisance.

A big nuisance once it gains momentum. Our summers keep pruning it back, here, but no such relief in the UK!
