Last year I bough and planted two Pampas Grass. They were about two feet high at the time and each had a single flower plume which disappeared over the winter. This year they have grown to over six feet high and about three feet spread but no plumes. Is this normal?

Rosie's right - they may yet flower. My one used to flower mid to late October, but my neighbour's round the corner flowered in September. I also recall I got no flowers on mine for the first 2 or 3 years.

Thanks Rosierose and Bamboo, your comments are much appreciated. Fingers crossed for this year, but now I won't be too concerned if they don't flower.

Yes. Grasses sometimes take a year or two to settle in. I had the same issue with my Stipa Gigantea. However, pampas grass doesn't usually flower till autumn, so keep your fingers crossed for flowering this year. :)
