Why do all my cherries fall off tree before they are ripe enough to pick

this is probably due to lack of water as the tree uses it to produce the fruit. perhaps thinning out the number of cherries earlier in the season may help. you may find that the fallen cherries continue to ripen once collected. I usually leave shop bought ones to finish ripening in the fruit bowl.
