Any one seen anything like this? My Mums conference Pear tree gets a bright red blotch on the top side of the leaf and some sort of grow on the other side.

Yep, pear rust, needs a Juniper in the vicinity to complete its life cycle, so if there's one in the garden, it'll need attention too, see link for information and advice
