I have a photo of the acer problem I have. It is out of focus but maybe you can see the problem with the white bits on the leaves.

It is out of focus, so hard to be 100%, but it looks like wind damage, or damage from being exposed to very hot sun in the middle of the day rather than mildew or any other problem. No need to do anything, the leaves will be dropping off shortly, so as long as there are no symptoms on the woody parts of the tree, it'll grow anew next year.
