HELP! I have a small/young Pieris Foresti I planted earlier this year, however it is looking rather sad.... turning brown and dropping leaves . I wonder if it's a lime hating plant as I live in an area reknowned for it's limestone (Bath) or a lack of watering that's causing it?

Well it needs an acidic soil so you have a problem where you live and it will need to be in a container with ericaceous compost.

I had a new plant that did this not long after I'd planted it. I just kept watering it and fed it regularly and it's come through a treat!

But do you have alkaline soil Donna?

Ah now, I haven't tested it, but it is really heavy clay. I did dig in heaps of compost at the time though. I use Ericaceous Miracle gro feed.
