When to tidy pond

Can anybody advise me when I need to tidy my pond ready for Spring, especially when to cut back my irises?
The pond was restocked in 2016 and has grown really well especially the water lilies.

I don't think there is anything for you to tidy as water irises are not normally pruned unless there is leaf damage. The rest certainly doesn't need attention. Our pond on the other hand needs some serious removal of weed and several plants pruned back!

I would clean/check over my aquarium at least once per month, especially if you have live fish.

If you think that needs tidying you should see ours! I wish I'd done it in the late autumn as many people do, before the water got so cold. I wouldn't touch it, its beautiful.

I've just done mine! Cut my irises down from the frost making them snap! I've got rid of a tonne of blanket weed too!

I cut out the old brown foliage on the iris early spring, but I take the lily leaves away in the autumn/early winter when they turn yellowy/brown. any other dead stems are cut down in the early spring.
it looks wonderful in your photo :o)

I'm not an expert on ponds, but my wildlife pond will be tidied some time soon in the winter, before the spawing season comes. But as I can see from yours, you wouldn't really get spawn in yours due to your pump so can imagine clearing/dividing can be done now or sometime before Spring before the plants really get going.
