My Solanum is behaving very oddly. It was damaged last winter, but it survived, although I've had to cut out some dead wood. However, shoots have been appearing well away from the main 'vine' which is trained onto a trellis. They're coming up in the border about a yard or more away, and they're lush and healthy. Now - should I dig them up, or what else can I do? They're starting to creep across the lawn, too.

looks a bit like the roots are sending up new growth, like Rhus and Plum. Could be with you for years if not sorted Spritz. I know Rhus can be a nightmare once you prune it, it goes into self preservation mode sending shoots up everywhere.

Oh dear. That will mean digging up everything else in the border!
