hi is a sunflower plant considered an annual thanks alison as i was given one and its stopped flowering now and was wondering what to do with it apart from using the seed head for the birds .... thanks alison

Most sunflowers only bloom once, though there are branching kinds that have a longer bloom season.

hi thanks guys will do sow seed in the spring ... great thanks . it definately a bloom once only plant am sure the finches and blue tits will enjoy it ...

You are right. Keep some seed to sow next year. All you have to do is in April/ May poke youre finger in the ground about 1" deep, drop your seed in and water. Then you will have more free sunflowers.
