I hope you look at the link to see how he grows his plants.

Cyril spends more time in a day growing his plants than most of us do in a week... he also has an extremely large and expensive alpine house he grows in. Not something most of us mortals can aspire to.

Thank you for the introduction to Cyril Lafong- I hadnt heard of him before. Loved the visit to his garden.
Learned that the correct term to have on my plastic
sign is 'The Crevice Garden.'

Thank you Diane, I'm glad you enjoyed seeing his astonishing garden. Mg its hard to believe he did all that while he held down a full time job. I believe he is now retired. It is all so tidy and well kept. I came across the link when I was looking for something else and I felt it was worth sharing with fellow members who might not have known how of him or how skilled he is. It is nice that he shows the rest of us what can be achieved with patience and application to an absorbing hobby.

Cyril has always put 110% effort into his garden and much more into his growing... the area itself it huge and he just keeps working away. I doubt that the majority of GoY members will be aware of him as a grower and why would they be if they are not into growing alpine plants? Cyril does this because he wants to and produces some amazing plants - am I envious - no, I recognise he is a far superior grower to me :)

Thank you Mg the title was to encourage members to explore that link I came across. I am not envious either but I wish someone had introduced me to alpines when I was a lot younger. Your attitude is one I have found to be one of the benefits of being a member of SRGC, people are just so generous of their time and experience when it comes to passing on information to latecomers like myself. I am not made to feel ignorant even when I am given an answer that should have been obvious. It would be a dull world if we were all, I was going to write competitive, but that does not seem to be his prime motivation. He just loves his plants and sharing learning more about them.

Thank you Scotsgran there are far more knowledgable members of the SRGC than myself though.

Thank you again Scotsgran. I have put this website into my Garden Notes book so that I can refer to it at another time. A Crevice Garden is a good way to make part of a garden more interesting. My Brussel Sprout seeds have germinated, and early Potatoes are now set up to chit in the spare bedroom !

But you make yourself accessible Mg. That is not counting all the excellent work you and Bb do to ensure SRGC continues. Thank you too Dianebulley. You look like you are not going to be too bothered by a future veg. shortage.

How do I say thanks?
