IMy neighbour has a cherry tree 1.5 metres from my house should I be worried. It is up to the upstairs windows.

Cherry trees can get big and have a large rootstock. I would be concerned for my foundations in years to come.

I would be - should be a minimum of 25 feet away, depending on the variety. Tell them that if you get subsidence or damage to your foundations, they'll be footing the bill...
