Which hostas are slug/snail resistant?

I always understood the blue "waffle leafs" are more resistant to slugs because they are tougher. I have one called "Blue Cherub" the slugs never touch.

'Halcyon' is said to be resistant so I planted it - and three snails promptly set up home on it!

Exactly Andrew... there are all sorts of 'claims' but at the end of the day slugs, and snails, love Hostas tbh we view them as sacrificial and let the molluscs get on with it!

MG - the best way to grow them is in a pot standing in a large saucer of water, ie with a MOAT! As long as slugs and snails can't parachute in from something nearby, the hosta is safe as they can't do breast stroke.

Have you tried using slug bait like sluggo or something? I honestly don't have an issue with slugs. I think the birds eat them all.

Bathgate - would you like me to send some over? I can spare some!

Our Hostas are in the ground and will remain so... wouldn't consider putting slug bait round a plant out in the open Bathgate in case a bird tried to eat the remains...
