No, but if you like to save your own seed, keep the sweet peppers far away from the hot peppers! They do cross, and the hybrids can be hotter than their hot parent! Normally doesn't affect the fruit of the unwitting parent, though. If you got sweet pepper seeds or plants, and they turned out hot, someone at the nursery or seed house goofed.
