Daffodils. Is it just me or are my daffodils flowering late this year? No flowers so far. :( They have come up and have grown the flowerheads but I am sure previously I have had them in bloom by now? Is anyone enjoying their daffs in flower now? It hasn't been particularly cold here in Shropshire and have the feeling they are in bloom every where else in the UK?

it depends on the variety too. it was milder last spring so many opened sooner and as it has been cold they are probably just a little behind. The ones I'd expect to be in flower now are just about to open.
I have different varieties so I have daff flowers from Feb through to May .

As SBG says not such a mild winter and different varieties flower at different times. Ours aren't booming yet and I wouldn't expect them to be.

Ok, thanks.

There's inevitably a lot of variation regarding when they actually flower, largely down to temperature - last year, the ones in the grass verge next to the road near me were in flower just before Christmas, so the end of the previous year - this year, they're out now. I've seen them out in January before, and as late as end of March, and they're the same daffodils that have been there for 8 years.

Ours in the garden are flowering now but on the bank where there's a wide mix of varieties fewer than half are in bloom if yours are late you can have double pleasure - other gardens now and yours later!

Our small daffs have been in flower for a couple of weeks but the larger ones are only just flowering. I am in Devon so it's a bit earlier for us. There is definitely something to be happy about later flowering bulbs.

How do I say thanks?
