I have a mimosa plant which I have had for a few years in a pot - I have no room in my small garden to plant it in the soil. It has grown very tall and leggy despite my pinching the growing tips, and for the first time I had some flowers at the very top.
After it hs finished flowering can I cut the branches down so it will bush out or will this kill it?

After flowering it's next task will be to produce a few seed pods. In any case it is pot bound and if you do not desire to plant this tree you might consider parting with it. This is not a tree for a small garden in that it produces a lot of trash in the form of fallen flowers and seed pods during the year. But the smell of it in full bloom make the cleanup worth it in larger gardens.
