help on runner beans Please

first time of growing things i planted runners and they got very big(to big) and have red seed things are these ok to eat

You can always just eat the beans in the pod but the actual pod will be pretty tough if the beans are large.

do you mean the seeds inside the beans, if so you may be leaving them on the plants too long.they are best picked before you can feel the seeds ,or they could be tough and stringy..Hope this helps. bye the way welcome to GOY.
