It's probably due to location, but a picture and description of where it's planted would be helpful.

Chilean jasmine is one of the common names for Mandevilla laxa, a tender to half hardy climbing plant with trumpet shaped flowers in various colours. It doesn't generally survive outdoors overwinter in the UK, so, first, is that the plant you mean, and if so, where is it growing in terms of warmth, light, in a pot or in the ground and so on?
