Hi, I have a 10ft chain link fence around a pair of tennis courts that need to be covered by a climber. the problems are I live in cumbria north uk and the cold wind is a serious factor also they need to be fairly fast growing and evergreen if possible, any ideas??

None at all I'm afraid - were you in the south or west of the UK, you could have used Trachelospermum jasminoides, but where you are, that's not an option.
The only viable evergreen climber is Hedera, or ivy - and that's not a great idea because, over time, it becomes heavy, the stems get thick and tree like and its likely to destroy the chain link fence.
If there's space round the outside, perhaps you could consider planting evergreen hedging plants.
