Hi, I agree with Scotsgran, definitely Garrrya, but I can't see what the leaves are like to be able to give a species or cultivar, if it has red - purple shoots, and slightly wavy margined , glossy mid green leaves, it could be G,x issaquahensis 'Pat Ballard', if it has very wavy margined leaves and the katkins are 12" or more ling, then it could be Garrya elliptica 'Evie', but if the leaves area dark sea green colour, then as Scotsgran says, it could be G elliptica 'James Roof', Derek.

Derekm. The leaves are dark green & waxy, its a shame the katkins stay on the shrub, I have to hand pick them all off as they make it look untidy when their dead.

Hi, it sounds as though it's 'James Roof ' then, Derek.

That is a gorgeous shrub. Garrya eliptica. It could 'James Roof' judging by the length of the tassels.
