Hi everyone.....I just need some advice on when to prune two huge sage bushes... They're looking extremely healthy but smothering other plants... I cut into them a couple of years ago which spoiled their appearance, it's the fronts of them that are encroaching on a lavender hedge....

Sage covers an awful lot of plants, from Salvia officinalis (the herb sage) to purely ornamental plants, but generally, the usual time to prune these back is late April/early May, depending on how cold the weather is.
