Can ants damage a grape vine? Ants have invaded my greenhouse despite using ant gels and powders reported to kill a nest. But this evening they were all over the grape vine. |Please advise

Check the vine carefully, the backs of leaves, stems and the woody parts, for evidence of aphids or scale infestation. Ants on plants usually indicates one or other infestation because the ants like to collect honeydew produced by these insects, in particular, aphids. If the vine is infested, treat for whatever it is and the ants will stop crawling all over the vine.
Ants won't be damaging the vine, but aphids or scale will.
