Could it possibly be red campion?

I'll look it up Steragram. Thank you

Its a long shot - not convinced...ask again when it flowers if nobody else replies. Or send a PM to Landgirl who knows a lot about wildflowers.

Tricky, isn't it. Good guess, Stera, but I've just been outside to look at my red campion (already in flower) and the leaves are shorter and fatter than this. I don't suppose it's a phlox-to-be?

Just wondering if it could be valerian?

Thank you

I don't think its valerian which has leaves more pointed at the tips. Why not leave it until it flowers and ask again? (before it has a chance to seed itself, just in case...)

Sheila, I was too lazy to go outside and check - ten out of ten for effort! Have just had a quick skim through the Mitchell Beasley guide (smallest and quickest!) without finding a match.

How do I say thanks?
