You can just hack it down with a machete. I usually just rip it out of the ground with my bare hands. It's not difficult..Roundup? Whatever method you choose, do it before these flowers go to seed or you'll have 10 x N more plants next year.

Hi Christine and welcome to GoY. Yes it is an Aquiligia if you don't like do as Bathgate suggests and pull it up before it starts to seed. It dots itself around our garden and, unless it pops up somewhere totally in appropriate, we just let it get on with it.

Aquiligia are much better than weeds any day Christine and as they hybridise you may well find you get some stunning colours.

Lovely Christine! I find that Aquilegias are a fantastic stop-gap plant between spring bulbs and summer flowers. I tend to let them seed about and love to see the new colours emerging. :) Sorry you can't garden any more, but hope you get some fun from browsing Grows on You and seeing what we are all up to! :) Karen

I think I would leave them alone as they are much prettier than just pebbles. I think Bathgate's machete idea would be a bit beyond you as you can't garden any more!
