We inherited a beautiful wisteria when we moved house 3 years ago. It was full of blooms the past 2 years, but this year a lot of the blooms have turned almost to dust. It is not against a wall but a very heavy trellis so it gets the weather from all sides, we understand that it is at least 10 years old. Can you suggest what the problem might be. Two thirds of my Wisteria buds also turned to dust this year - in spite of trying protection with fleece, the frost got them. Luckily the remaining third are now flowering.
It is just bad luck, and there's no reason to think that your Wisteria won't bloom well next year.

Hi Jean
It could be a late frost especially being on a trellis and as you have mentioned gets the weather all sides or and its been very dry for weeks , only in the past week have we had a good down pour so that may effected the development of the buds.
It will be fine and like all of us gardeners patience is a virtue even though its very frustrating at times.
