In my front garden, by the gate, I have a large bed of Phlox which have been blooming wonderfully for the past 6 weeks; but now they are looking a little tattered, and are obviously finishing their present phase. Should I cut them down to about 6", as I can then use the space to put small containers filled with Buz Liz in their place, and forget about them until next year?

Mine too Owdboggy! Question is are they really Phlox or are you really, really sheltered?

You must be months ahead of us. My Phlox are only about half way to flowering. The alpine ones have finished, but they are flat growing. The annual Phlox usually flower in July August.
