Hi my Dad has a plant growing in his garden that he doesn't recognise. It has pale blue / purple ish flower. It looks like a thistle family member. Thanks Jen.

Patience, patience! It's a pretty plant and the insects love it.

Why 'patience' Honeysuckle... it is Phacelia!

Patience is for the questions that may get asked several times, no offence intended, jokingly meant. We have to encourage anyone with an interest in gardening, all us older gardeners are going to die off and we need new ones! The older bit is not intended for you MG as by your photo you haven't reached that point yet - now if I put my new driving licence photo on here, that would be frightening! Why do I always look so disgruntled when it comes to photo's, I'm a happy, contented soul really?

Oh I don't mind how many times the same question is asked... just find it interesting that a particular plant will suddenly pop up all over the place :) Believe me I'm in the 'older gardeners' bit really must find a way to change that photo it was taken at least 10 years ago!

Hi Mg, if you go to your news page, click on profile, then click on edit profile, it will give you the option to change your avatar, hope this helps, Derek.

It is obviously going to be the summer for this one, it is Phacelia which is often sown as a green manure plant.
