It's possiby vine weevil if the chomping is in semi-circles. Look for the adults and squish them (google for pic.). Make sure you treat with NemaSys nematodes in the autumn to kill the larvæ before they damage the roots over winter.
I wouldn't complain - the plants have been raised without being soaked in pesticides, which, to my mind, is a bonus.

Looks like caterpillar damage to me. If the rest of the leaves look like the ones in the picture, I would suggest that replacements were in order.
