Scabiosa columbaria var. ochroleuca . . I have just received these from Bluebell Cottage Nursery, with identical labels. Are they really both the same plant?! Thanks.

Thanks Mg. The odd thing is that the ferny leaves on the left hand plant do look the same as those on the other. I've never used this mail order firm before, so have no idea whether they're usually reliable.
Perhaps I should send THEM the photo and see what they say!

I've grown S ochroluca and it does have both wide and ferny leaves. a creamy white flower if I remember correctly.
but it didn't have the columbaria part in its name.
I've just done some checking ochroluca is a subspecies of columbaria and many growers don't bother adding that part.

Now the one on the right looks like the leaves of Scabiosa graminifolia to me.

Thank you Seaburn and Ob - very interesting. I have in fact sent the photo to Bluebell Nurseries, but so long as they both have cream flowers I won't be too bothered.

Well, the righthand pot, as we look at the photo could be Scabiosa columbaria not idea what the broad leafed plant in the left had pot is but it doesn't look like a scabious to me at all.
