Moving wisteria

A friend moved their wisteria about a month ago and gave it to me, it was well established but I think it's died now, is there any way of saving it?

If you mean it was well established in your friend's garden, its possible it lost too much root material when it was dug up and moved, and that's why it's dead now, or looks dead. Nothing you can do other than cut it down to about 6 inches and keep it well watered and see if anything starts growing.
