I bought a Salix willow from home base 3 years ago. Prune it back each winter as instructions. It does fine during late may and june but then the leaves start to turn yellow with black spots on some of them and begin to fall off. This has happened the last 2 years and is doing so again this year. Any suggestions?

I agree with Jimmy and would also suggest you are over pruning... copy and paste the url below. Was this meant to be a shrub Salix or a tree?

I would say that the root of you problem is that it needs to be planted in the ground. Like most Salix, it requires a constantly moist soil. Less likely to suffer from fungal diseases when planted out.
