Does anybody know if this is a weed or a plant? I thought it was at first but now I'm not to sure.

Agree SBG! A 'weed' is only flower in the wrong place. I do know this but, drat, the name won't surface!

It looks like a Silver Maple (Acer saccharinum) to me. Maybe some other kind of Maple.

I don't recognise it but I am in the uk!
however if you like it, it isn't a weed. if you don't like it, it is a weed. choice is yours whether to grow it or take it out.
