Hi, I have a number of summer flowering hebes.
Two were bought as gifts in winter in small decorative wooden tubs. Initially green and unnamed they have both just burst into flower (one deep pink, the other with smaller leaves and pale blue).
They have really outgrown the tubs which are congested with roots but if I plant them in my garden they may get too big. Can I prune them now?

Pruning isn't going to help if the roots are congested, you either need to move to a larger container or plant in garden where you ca still keep pruned.
