I have got tradescantia in my garden, but every year the stems flop and the whole becomes a squidgy mess. They have such beautiful dark blue flowers. How can I prevent this? I have staked them, and tried with a frame, but to no avail. Help!!

my brother used twiggy prunings pushed in the soil to provide support for his. and it seems to work well for him.

They are pretty messy growers, it has to be said, they won't win any prizes for neatness. You're only supposed to remove flowered stems to tidy it up and encourage more flowers, but I'll confess I've chopped the whole thing down after flowering because a large clump does look messy. I don't think there's any easy answer...
