My mother cordyline died off a couple of years ago but four baby shoots appeared and now they are quite large. They are still in the same pot. Can I separate them and what is the best time of year.

yes you can separate them. knock the compost off the plant and using a sharp knife cut each baby off with its own roots. then repot each section. you can do it now but remember to keep them well watered.
