Is it a triffid?

Northumberland, United Kingdom Gb

Two photos ( not great ones I may add) but does anybody know what this 'triffid' is growing in my veggie plot.

the blue flower looks like wild chicory or blue sow thistle.

I agree, not chicory. How big is it? I'm a bit stumped!

Yes the blue flower is the flower on the plant. I also thought at first it was chicory but definitely not the right sort of leaves. It is about 2 ft tall but it is growing along the ground too with all the branches coming off it. When I say along the ground it isn't putting roots down. Most peculiar type of growth. I will try and get a better photo tomorrow with some perspective so it will give a better idea of this alien plant!
Thanks for replying.
